Lebanon Valley College inducted 14 students to its Alpha Kappa Delta honor society on April 12, 2016, as part of Inquiry 2016. AKD is dedicated to the ideal of Athropon Katamannthanein Diakonesin, or "to investigate humanity for the purpose of service." AKD seeks to acknowledge and promote excellence in scholarship in the study of sociology, the research of social problems, and such other social and intellectual activities as will lead to improvement in the human condition.

Lebanon Valley College inducted four students to its Sigma Pi Sigma honor society on April 13, 2016, as part of Inquiry 2016. Sigma Pi Sigma, the Department of Physics national honor society, exists to honor outstanding scholarship in physics, encourage interest in physics among students at all levels, promote an attitude of service of its members towards their fellow students, colleagues, and the public, and to provide a fellowship of persons who have excelled in physics. Founded in 1921, Sigma Pi Sigma is a member honor society of the Association of College Honor Societies and has some 75,000 historical members. Election to Sigma Pi Sigma is a lifetime membership.

Lebanon Valley College inducted 3 students to its Pi Sigma Alpha honor society on April 11, 2016, as part of Inquiry 2016. Pi Sigma Alpha is the national political science honor society and is the only honor society for college and university students of government in the United States. There are nearly 700 chapters on campuses across the country. The Alpha Theta Omega chapter at Lebanon Valley College formed in 2014.

Lebanon Valley College inducted one student to its Phi Alpha Theta honor society on April 3, 2016, as part of Inquiry 2016. Phi Alpha Theta is the history national honors society that requires its members to have a department GPA of at least 3.1 and a college GPA of at least 3.0. Additionally, any potential members must have completed at least 12 history credits, though membership is not limited to history majors.

Lebanon Valley College inducted 4 students to its Sigma Iota Rho honor society on April 11 2016, as part of Inquiry 2016. The Sigma Iota Rho honor society exists to promote and reward scholarship and service among students and practitioners of international studies, international affairs, and global studies and to foster integrity and creative performance in the conduct of world affairs.

Lebanon Valley College inducted new students to Delta Alpha Pi, an academic honor society for students with disabilities in colleges and universities, as part of the College's Inquiry 2016 celebration.

Lebanon Valley College has recognized more than 140 of its first-year students for making an impact on campus as a new student. The Celebration of Student Success reception, held Monday, April 4 in Mund College Center, honored the student's achievement.

Lebanon Valley College inducted 141 students to its Sigma Alpha Pi honor society on April 10, 2016, as part of Inquiry 2016. Sigma Alpha Pi is the National Honor Society of Leadership and Success. The Society serves as a powerful force of good in the greater community by encouraging and organizing action to better the world. Students are selected for induction based upon their GPA and level of involvement. The Society is based on six main tenets for achieving success: finding a vision, setting goals, persevering, taking risks, pursuing your passion, and continuous improvement.

Lebanon Valley College inducted 51 students to its Phi Alpha Epsilon honor society on April 3, 2016, as part of Inquiry 2016. Membership is limited to senior students who have achieved a 3.6 GPA, completed 24 credits of LVC coursework, and earned a bronze, silver, or gold community service award.

Lebanon Valley College students get the chance to play college sports at a high level while pursuing their intellectual and career goals, and enjoying other interests. While competing for conference championships and earning national rankings, our student-athletes have the flexibility to double major, study abroad, and pursue internships--opportunities that will inform their lives long after their playing careers end.

Hannah Pell '16, from Elizabethtown, Pa., will spend nine months in Graz, Austria combining her two loves of music and science for a once-in-a-lifetime experience as a Fulbright Scholar.

Twenty two students and staff from Lebanon Valley College just returned from an alternative spring break service trip to St. Augustine, Fla. The trip, which took place from March 5 to March 12, was the first time the College has participated with non-profit organizations Council on Aging, the St. Gerard Pregnancy Center, and the St. John's Housing Partnership. They seek to bring people together to build homes, communities, and hope.

The Lebanon Valley College Concert Choir embarks on its 80th Annual Spring Tour Sunday, Mar. 20 in Harrisburg. The tour includes five performances and concludes Sunday, April 3 at 3 p.m. in the Lutz Recital Hall in Blair Music Center.

Nine Lebanon Valley College student proposals are one step closer to implementation thanks to inaugural Student Innovation Fund grants announced by LVC President Dr. Lewis E. Thayne. Nine grants were awarded to 20 students for projects ranging from sustainability and outdoor appreciation to student programming and the arts.

More than 30 Lebanon Valley College students completed Brave Zone Network Training during the fall semester. The program trains students to be walking advocates and allies for their peers of marginalized groups like students of color, members of the LGBT community, students of disability, as well as different religious groups.

Nineteen Lebanon Valley College students are spending the spring 2016 semester studying away as part of the College's study abroad program, which includes 12 foreign countries and two stateside internship opportunities.

This spring Lebanon Valley College's Wig and Buckle Theater Company will perform Neil Simon's 1969 play "Last of the Red Hot Lovers" as part of its 2015-16 Diamond Season. Since 1935, Wig and Buckle has performed musicals and plays for the enjoyment of LVC students and members of surrounding communities.

A total of 109 Lebanon Valley student-athletes have been named to the Middle Atlantic Conference's (MAC) Fall Academic Honor Roll.

Twenty Lebanon Valley College students travel to Washington, D.C. as part of the 2016 Social Justice Institute, a leadership institute that allows students to explore how oppression impacts true equality.

Eleven Lebanon Valley College students will perform recitals on campus this spring. Recitals feature a variety of instruments and vocal performances.

A Resident Assistant (RA) oversees a floor or wing in a residence hall. The RA serves as a resource for residential students and provides a residential environment conducive to the overall development of students. The RA role encompasses programming, administrative, and student development responsibilities.

Lebanon Valley College is pleased to announce its exclusive cohort of students accepted for admission for Fall 2016 through the Early Decision program at The Valley. Applying through the Early Decision program, these students have expressed their sincerest intent to enroll and embrace LVC's rigorous and engaging experience.

Six Lebanon Valley College students completed the Interfaith Certification program during 2015. The program encourages student exploration of the faiths of others in light of the student's own religious identity both in and beyond the classroom.

This Arnold Grant enabled three LVC students to work with each other and Dr. Kathleen Tacelosky, chair of Department of Languages and professor of Spanish, to plan and carry out a readers' and writers' workshop to support linguistic development of transnational students.
