Twenty-six Lebanon Valley College students are spending the fall 2014 semester abroad as part of the College's study abroad program, which includes 12 foreign countries and two stateside internship opportunities. Local student include:

Nine Lebanon Valley College students recently participated in the Mid-Atlantic Regional Computer Programming Contest. The contest is a part of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) International Computer Programming Competition.

Lebanon Valley College is a four year residential college and believes that an LVC education is the result of distinctively curricular and co-curricular experiences in class, on campus, and in the residence halls. Approximately 1,200 LVC students live in the residence halls on campus each year.

Lebanon Valley College's Wig and Buckle Theater Company is pleased to announce their upcoming production of the musical "Curtains," a "musical comedy whodunit" opening Friday, Oct. 24 at 8 p.m. Since 1935, Wig and Buckle has performed musicals and plays for the enjoyment of LVC students and members of surrounding communities.

Student Government is comprised of 36 full-time students. One of the Government's major responsibilities is to foster understanding, communication, and cooperation among students, faculty, and administrators.

In addition to working toward earning a Lebanon Valley College degree, 46 students are volunteering through the Lebanon Valley Education Partnership (LVEP) to encourage other, younger students to enroll in college.

Lebanon Valley College's Pride of the Valley marching band is made up of 151 members representing 24 different academic programs. The fall 2014 halftime show is titled "Decimation of the New World."

A Resident Assistant (RA) oversees a floor or wing in a residence hall. The RA serves as a resource for residential students and provides a residential environment conducive to the overall development of students. The RA role encompasses programming, administrative, and student development responsibilities.

The Multicultural Student Bridge Program (MSBP) is a three-day pre-orientation program geared at providing incoming first year and transfer ALANA (African/African American, Latino, Asian and Native American) and multiracial students with a jump start on college life at Lebanon Valley College. The program combines peer mentoring, residential living, academic success and leadership development to assist students in making a successful transition to college and the LVC community.

Fifteen Lebanon Valley College students will perform recitals on campus this fall. Recitals feature a variety of instruments and vocal performances.

Lebanon Valley College has selected 60 students to serve as Valley Ambassadors. Valley Ambassadors tour prospective students and their families through LVC, where they have the opportunity to see the academic quad, a typical classroom, a dorm room, and the athletic fields, while providing knowledge of The Valley.

Twenty-one Lebanon Valley College science majors participated in the "Disappearing Boundaries" Summer Research Meeting at Elizabethtown College on July 17, 2014. Founded by LVC professor Dr. Wally Patton, the meeting is specifically designed for researchers in the region to come together to share their science.

The Peer Mentor Program begins during orientation and continues throughout the first semester. This program eases the transition of new students to LVC. The primary goals of the program are for new students to succeed socially and academically, to ensure that each new student has an upper-class student from whom they can seek assistance, and to help students become well acquainted with other new students.

Lebanon Valley College is pleased to recognize its Legacy enrollees as part of the incoming Class of 2018. Legacy students - children of Lebanon Valley College graduates - receive a $2,500 scholarship each year.

Lebanon Valley College is recognizing its high-achieving first-year students for receiving scholarships from the College. Among the incoming class of 448 students, 63 percent rank in the top 30 percent of their high school class; 12 students were valedictorians; 52 percent of students earned a scholarship worth half-tuition; and five students received the full-tuition Allwein Scholarship. Eight Lebanon Valley College Organ Guild members traveled to the Los Angeles area to play some of the most renowned organs in the United States.

Seventeen members of the graduating Class of 2014 carried on the Dutchmen tradition as legacy students at Lebanon Valley College.

Lebanon Valley College recognizes six outstanding Leadership Institute participants for their completion of a fun and innovative program that provides an opportunity for students to reflect on their leadership-related experiences and increase their personal skills.

Twelve students and three faculty members participated in Lebanon Valley College's first international service-learning trip to Peru in May 2014. Group members worked with the Misminay community on various educational, cultural, and social projects.

Twenty-nine Lebanon Valley College symphony orchestra students spent a week touring and performing across Ireland May 13-20 as part of the American Celebration of Music in Ireland. Orchestra director Dr. Hannes Dietrich was excited to offer students a once-in-a-lifetime performance opportunity at St. Mary's Church of Ireland in Killarney, Castalia Hall in Kilkenny, and St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Glasthule.

Lebanon Valley College has announced its Dean's list recipients for the spring 2014 semester. Dean's list students must maintain a GPA of at least 3.4 out of 4.0.

Lebanon Valley College on April 29 presented the Student Affairs Leadership and Service Awards.

Lebanon Valley College's 145th Commencement Exercises May 10 graduated 523 students, who received their degrees in the LVC Gymnasium. The 416 graduating seniors were joined by 29 doctor of physical therapy candidates, 78 master's degree candidates, and 31 students who graduated in December 2013 and have now formally received their degrees.

Hundreds of students have enrolled at Lebanon Valley College in anticipation of the upcoming fall semester. The Class of 2018 includes students from 15 states who will begin a challenging and sophisticated course of study with some of the most innovative faculty on campus.

Lebanon Valley College junior Heather LaSalle facilitated a social justice conversation at the 16th Annual Conference of the Pennsylvania Chapter of the National Association for Multicultural Education (PA-NAME) at Temple University on April 12.

As part of Lebanon Valley College's Freedom Week activities, students, alumni, and staff teamed up for a production of Eve Ensler's "Vagina Monologues." The performance was Saturday, March 15 in Leedy Theater.

Lebanon Valley College business students won numerous awards at the Phi Beta Lambda State Leadership Conference April 11-13, 2014.

Lebanon Valley College recognizes Gold Community Service Award recipients, who have served more than 100 hours, and have completed a multi-day residential service project.
