Nine Lebanon Valley College students recently competed in the Mid-Atlantic Regional Collegiate Programming Contest at Wilkes University. At the event, students worked in teams to solve computational programming problems in a limited time.

Lebanon Valley College named 14 students as Mosaic Mentors for the upcoming academic year. They will provide direct and dedicated peer support to incoming and transfer ALANA (African/African American, Latina, Asian and Native American), Multicultural Fellowship, Lebanon Valley Educational Partnership, international, and LGBTQ+ identifying students.

Lebanon Valley College welcomed 19 legacy students to campus as part of its record-high 478 first-year students arriving to campus this fall. Legacy students - children of Lebanon Valley College graduates - receive a $2,500 scholarship each year.

Lebanon Valley College field hockey student-athletes Cecile Kat and Nicole Willi earned Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth weekly awards as announced by the league office Sept. 16.

Lebanon Valley College opened its fall semester with a record number of first-year students. The new class of 478 students, the most in the College's 153-year history, surpasses last year's record of 473 first-year students. In fall 2017, LVC opened with 466 first-year students, also a record at the time.

Lebanon Valley College senior Rob Hanosek earned the Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth Offensive Player of the Week award for men's soccer as announced by the league office Sept. 9.

Lebanon Valley College welcomes 60 students as First-Year Mentors who will guide new first-year and transfer students through their early months at The Valley. First-year mentors are responsible for assisting new students in succeeding personally, socially, and academically through connections to the College and their peers.

Lebanon Valley College introduced nearly 50 Resident Assistants (RA) for the 2019-20 upcoming academic year. An RA oversees a floor or wing in a residence hall, serving as a resource for residential students and providing a residential environment conducive to the overall development of students.

Seven Lebanon Valley College students are studying abroad this fall in countries including New Zealand, England, Italy, and France.

Lebanon Valley College's Pride of The Valley Marching Band will feature nearly 130 students this year. The marching band performs at all home football games as well as appearances at various exhibitions throughout the fall semester.

Lebanon Valley College women's lacrosse head coach Jackie Dando and several players took the trip of a lifetime to Australia as a part of Beyond's Sports Tour. Junior Veronica John and sophomores Julia Gabriel and Kaitlyn Metz joined Coach Dando on the adventure.

The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has announced the all-academic team and individual award recipients for the 2019 season. The Lebanon Valley women's track & field team squad earned the team award, while women's sprinter Alyssa Diffenderfer, women's jumper Jess Attieh, and men's thrower Trent Donlan all earned individual accolades.

The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) has named Lebanon Valley to the organization's IWLCA Zag Sports Academic Honor Squads. Makenzie Kelley, Alexa Bash, Jen Eck, and Julia Brewer were also named to the IWLCA Zag Sports Division III Academic Honor Roll.

A total of 20 Lebanon Valley men's and women's ice hockey players have been recognized by the United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) for their academic performance during the 2018-19 season.

More than 30 Lebanon Valley College science majors presented the results of their student-faculty research at the annual Disappearing Boundaries Summer Research Meeting held in July at Lebanon Valley College.

Lebanon Valley College students contributed to the annual publishing of the Green Blotter Literary Magazine which features poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, and art submitted by undergraduate student writers everywhere. Their mission is to provide a much-needed platform for undergraduate creative writers and artists and to foster outstanding work in each of the genres we publish.

Incoming first-year students are among 46 students conducting research in the natural sciences alongside faculty mentors this summer at Lebanon Valley College.
