Lebanon Valley student-athletes made some noise with their performances last week and now a whopping five Flying Dutchmen have earned conference player of the week honors.

Lebanon Valley College welcomes 65 students who will participate in the Peer Mentor Program and guide new and transfer students through their first few months at The Valley. Peer mentors are responsible for assisting new students in succeeding personally, socially, and academically through connections to the College and their peers.

Lebanon Valley College's Student Government is tasked with fostering understanding, communication, and cooperation among students, faculty, and administrators.

More than 30 students will travel with the Lebanon Valley College orchestra for a fall tour. The orchestra is under the direction of Dr. Johannes Dietrich, Newton and Adelaide Burgner Endowed Professor of Instrumental Music.

Thanks to a record-setting performance in a victory last Thursday, Lebanon Valley's Rileigh Jo Evitts has been named the MAC Commonwealth Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.

For the first time in Lebanon Valley College women's soccer history, a player has earned United Soccer Coaches Division III National Player of the Week Honors. Rileigh Jo Evitts has added to her impressive list of accomplishments this week after her record-breaking performance last week.

Nicole Flohr '21 is one of very few students to be granted Lebanon Valley College's most prestigious scholarship. The John Bowman Allwein Scholarship is a full-tuition scholarship with an annual stipend that students use for research, internships, study abroad costs, or anything that benefits their undergraduate experience.

Lebanon Valley College's Pride of The Valley Marching Band will feature 135 students this year. The marching band performs at all home football games as well as appearances at various exhibitions throughout the fall semester.

Lebanon Valley College welcomes its Legacy enrollees as part of the incoming Class of 2021. Legacy students - children of Lebanon Valley College graduates - receive a $2,500 scholarship each year.

Lebanon Valley College's Mosaic Mentors provide direct and dedicated peer support to incoming and transfer ALANA (African/African American, Latina, Asian and Native American), Multicultural Fellowship, Lebanon Valley Educational Partnership, international, and LGBTQ+ identifying students.

Resident Assistants (RA) and Resident Mentors (RM) are key members of the Residence Life staff. An RA oversees a floor or wing in a residence hall, serving as a resource for residential students and providing a residential environment conducive to the overall development of students. Both RA and RM roles encompass programming, administrative, and student development responsibilities.

Nine Lebanon Valley College students will participate in an immersive study away experience this fall in countries including New Zealand, France, England, and Germany.

A pair of Lebanon Valley College students collaborated with two English faculty members to present a panel discussion at the PA Writers' Conference in August. The group presented a panel entitled, Spark into Flame: Writing Prompts in and Out of the Workshop.

Lebanon Valley College welcomed 15 students for the Summer Enrichment Program, a seven-day program geared at providing incoming first-year and transfer ALANA (African/African American, Latina, Asian, and Native American) and multiracial students with a jump start on college life. A dozen Lebanon Valley College students and two faculty advisors recently completed a week-long service learning trip to Puerto Rico. Throughout the week, the students volunteered at a retirement community, a center for victims of domestic violence, and an elementary school.

More than 80 Lebanon Valley College students completed Brave Zone Network Training during the past academic year. The Brave Zone Network trains students, faculty, and staff with the goal of creating an on-campus network of allies and members of the LGBT+ community.

The Lebanon Valley College Departments of Mathematical Sciences and of Physics announced the recent co-authorship by four students on the article "Local Pauli stabilizers of symmetric hypergraph states," which was accepted and will soon appear in Journal of Physics A: Mathematical and Theoretical.

Lebanon Valley College education students Cara Dowzicky and Chelsea Bear co-authored an article along with Dr. Ann Berger-Knorr, associate professor of education, titled "Female Game Changers of the 20th Century: Picture Book Biographies and the Jane Addams Children's Book Award" which was accepted for publication by Pennsylvania Reads: The Journal of the Keystone State Reading Association.
