Veteran Voices: Videos about Military Veterans from the Lebanon VA Medical Center

Wednesday, Nov. 28 at 7 p.m. in Zimmerman Recital Hall of the Suzanne H. Arnold Gallery

Annville, PA (11/20/2018) — Students in Lebanon Valley College's digital communications major, enrolled in the program's Storytelling for Online Media class, have partnered with military veterans from the Lebanon VA Medical Center to share stories from men and women who have fought for freedom. A series of short videos dedicated to these veteran's lives while in the military and afterward will be shared Nov. 28 at 7 p.m. in the College's Zimmerman Recital Hall of the Suzanne H. Arnold Art Gallery.

Twenty students interviewed veterans from the U.S. armed services who shared their stories, which included facing challenges following a life-altering injury, building a life once service is over, and learning that PTSD doesn't define a person.

"It's hard to truly understand how difficult it is for veterans to cope with PTSD after they transition to civilian life," said Morgan Ernst '21, a digital communications major from Lancaster. "However, hearing U.S. Army veteran Gilbert Cruz's stories about the Iraqi War firsthand gave me a better perspective on the challenging issues our heroes face when they return home."

Veteran Voices is held in conjunction with the Witness to War exhibition showing at the Suzanne H. Arnold Art Gallery through December 16.
