Lebanon Valley College #1 for Alumni Job Placement in Pa.

LVC has been named #1 among all colleges and universities in Pennsylvania and #4 in the U.S. in Zippia's listing of "The Best College in Each State for Getting a Job 2019.

Annville, PA (06/18/2019) — For the second consecutive year, Lebanon Valley College has been named #1 in Pennsylvania in Zippia's "The Best College in Each State for Getting a Job 2019" listing. Zippia uses U.S. Department of Education College Scorecard data on students at year 10 after enrolling at an institution. The job placement rate for LVC graduates is 95.63%, positioning Lebanon Valley College fourth among all colleges and universities in United States and above schools including Elon University, Gonzaga University, Marquette University, and University of Delaware.

"We are thrilled that national data reflects what the alumni and students of Lebanon Valley College value most deeply about the College. An LVC degree prepares them for their first jobs and for sustained career success," said Dr. Lewis E. Thayne, president of the College.

Zippia ranked Lebanon Valley College number one in the nation in its 2018 listing. The job placement rate for Lebanon Valley College students enrolling in 2008 was 96.185%.

To enhance student career readiness even more than in the past, said Thayne, the College has launched the Edward and Lynn Breen Center for Graduate Success. Established in 2018 with a $1.5 million gift from College Trustee Ed Breen, executive chairman of DuPont de Nemours Inc., and his wife, Lynn, the Breen Center aligns students' career and academic paths through career coaching, leadership development, networking, and internship opportunities. Breen Center staff begin coaching students their first semester and serve as a key resource for LVC's undergraduate, graduate, and online students and alumni. The center's programming works in tandem with LVC's core curriculum, Constellation LVC, which provides learning skills sought by employers, including critical and creative thinking, communication and analytical skills, and collaborative skills applied to problem solving. Immersive experiences including internships, study abroad, fieldwork, and research are part of the curriculum.

"LVC's highly coordinated, cross-departmental approach lets us adapt quickly to the needs of students, employers, and society," said Thayne. "As a result, our students go further and achieve more than they ever thought possible. I'm glad Lebanon Valley College is becoming known for the transformative educational experience it delivers."

Lebanon Valley College students have garnered some top honors of their own in recent months. The College was named a Top Producing Institution by the Fulbright Program for 2017-18 and 2018-19, and in the spring the College announced that four members of its Class of 2019 will receive Fulbright awards next year. In April, rising senior Brandon Roy '20 was named a Goldwater Scholar for his exceptional research work and planned research career in the sciences.
