Dr. Georgios Stylianides, director of the Jeanne and Edward H. Arnold Health Professions Pavilion Performance Laboratories and associate professor of exercise science, recently attended the American Society of Biomechanics East Coast Meeting, bringing along two students majoring in exercise science and physical therapy, Alyssa Raughley '19, D'21 and Victoria Laczo '19, D'21.

Twelve students in the College's Music Department attended music conferences this spring to learn from and network with others in the music industry.

Two Lebanon Valley College students attended and presented research at the annual Mid-Atlantic Ecological Society of America meeting at Rutgers University--Newark in early April.

Six Lebanon Valley College business students finished in the top three of their respective competitive events at the 47th Pennsylvania Phi Beta Lambda State Leadership Conference in Harrisburg, Pa. They qualified to compete at the national Leadership Conference in Baltimore, Md. in June

Kristy Sonberg of Greensboro, Md., learned that she'll be spending 13 months in South Korea as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant, starting this summer.

Nine Lebanon Valley College students enrolled in Religion 140, Encountering World Religions, spent a week in London exploring religious traditions and enjoying the incredibly culturally-rich city. Each day students participated in one group activity aimed at experiencing a religious place or activity, visiting a religiously-significant site, or engaging in a dialogue regarding religious life in London.

Three Lebanon Valley College students co-presented a session, "Developing Innovative Projects for Gallery Education Outreach," at the Pennsylvania State Arts and Education Symposium in Camp Hill Nov. 2.

More than 80 Lebanon Valley College students completed Brave Zone Network Training during the past academic year. The Brave Zone Network trains students, faculty, and staff with the goal of creating an on-campus network of allies and members of the LGBT+ community.

Education students attended the Annual Conference for Middle-Level Education held in Philadelphia, Nov. 6-10. The conference is designed for educators to network together and professional development.

Nineteen Lebanon Valley College students recently represented the College at the annual simulated European Union (EU) parliamentary session in Washington, D.C. A culmination of the disciplinary perspectives course, DSP 380: "EU Simulation," the trip was organized by the 12 colleges and universities of the Mid-Atlantic European Union Simulation Consortium (MAEUSC).

Lebanon Valley College's men's and women's cross country teams were in action at the 2017 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Championships on the campus of Delaware Valley University on Saturday, Oct. 28. The Flying Dutchmen had a strong outing, with 10 runners earning MAC All-Conference honors thanks to top-30 finishes.

Ten Lebanon Valley College science students partnered with Snitz Creek Brewery to create a recipe and brew this year's Flying Dutchmen Ale, which will be revealed during Homecoming Weekend 2017.

A group of Lebanon Valley College students attended a conference in Washington D.C. on September 21. The conference, which was put on by the Newseum and the Interactivity Foundation, addressed the topic of "How Will Public Discussion Thrive?"

Lebanon Valley College student-athletes joined Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf, legislators, advocates, and fellow student-athletes from schools across the state at the Capitol building on Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 6, for Governor Wolf's announcement of the introduction of his "It's On Us PA" campaign.

Resident Assistants (RA) and Resident Mentors (RM) are key members of the Residence Life staff. An RA oversees a floor or wing in a residence hall, serving as a resource for residential students and providing a residential environment conducive to the overall development of students. Both RA and RM roles encompass programming, administrative, and student development responsibilities.

A pair of Lebanon Valley College students collaborated with two English faculty members to present a panel discussion at the PA Writers' Conference in August. The group presented a panel entitled, Spark into Flame: Writing Prompts in and Out of the Workshop.

The program combines peer mentoring, residential living, academic success, and leadership development.

Lebanon Valley College education students Cara Dowzicky and Chelsea Bear co-authored an article along with Dr. Ann Berger-Knorr, associate professor of education, titled "Female Game Changers of the 20th Century: Picture Book Biographies and the Jane Addams Children's Book Award" which was accepted for publication by Pennsylvania Reads: The Journal of the Keystone State Reading Association.

The program combines peer mentoring, residential living, academic success and leadership development to assist students in making a successful transition to college and the LVC community.

Lebanon Valley College welcomes its Legacy enrollees as part of the incoming Class of 2020. Legacy students - children of Lebanon Valley College graduates - receive a $2,500 scholarship each year.
