2017 Oct 31

In the Middle Atlantic Conference's (MAC) inaugural Women's Ice Hockey Player of the Week awards, Lebanon Valley's Taylor Brynteson and Jill Moffatt swept the offensive and defensive honors, respectively, announced Monday.

Taylor Brynteson, of Alexandria, Va., is a graduate of Bishop Ireton High School and is pursuing a bachelor of science in digital communications at The Valley.

Brynteson provided a power-play goal and an assist in the Dutchmen's 4-3 overtime setback to Post on Saturday. The freshman's goal came with just under five minutes remaining in the third period to the contest at 3-3 and eventually send it into an extra five-minute period. Her assist came 36 seconds in the second period to put LVC ahead for the time being.

Moffatt made 95 saves on 100 shots in LVC's 0-1-1 week in a pair of games against Post. The sophomore made 42 saves on 43 shots in a 1-1 tie in the first game, including 15 saves in the third and four in OT. Moffatt followed it up by making 53 saves on 57 shots in a 4-3 overtime setback, including 21 first-period saves and 16 second-period stops.
