Samuel Light Recognized for men's basketball at Lebanon Valley College

Samuel Light of Jonestown, Pa., was one of more than 180 Lebanon Valley College students who played a varsity sport during the 2015-16 winter season. Light, a graduate of Northern Lebanon High School, was a member of Lebanon Valley's men's basketball team. Light is pursuing a bachelor of arts in undeclared/open major at The Valley.

Lebanon Valley finished off the year 16-11 overall and 10-6 in MAC Commonwealth play. LVC qualified for the league's postseason tournament and earned an ECAC Mid-Atlantic Championship Tournament berth at season's end. Andy Orr was named MAC Commonwealth Player of the Year and First-Team All-Region by D3hoops.com and the NABC. Orr netted 21.3 points-per-game and posted a 53.2 field goal percentage to go along with his 8.6 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per contest averages. Sam Light also joined Orr as a MAC Commonwealth All-Conference First-Team selection. Head coach Brad McAlester was also named MAC Commonwealth Coach of the Year. The team does lose one senior to graduation in team captain Kyler Burke.

A member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III, American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA), Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC), and Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC), Lebanon Valley College offers 24 sports.
