Samuel Light Recognized as LVC Student-Athlete

Samuel Light of Jonestown, Pa., is one of more than 150 student-athletes who competed for the Flying Dutchmen during the Winter 2017-18 sports season. Light, a graduate of Northern Lebanon High School, is pursuing a bachelor of science in business administration at The Valley.

Light was a member of the men's basketball team. It was an historic year for the Flying Dutchmen, as the program won its first outright conference championship since 1995 and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in more than a decade. Senior Sam Light became the program's third 2,000-point career scorer, while fellow senior Andy Orr became the first player in program history to surpass 1,900 points and 900 rebounds for his career.

A member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III, American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA), Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC), and Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC), Lebanon Valley College offers 26 sports.
