Samuel Light Earns Men's Basketball All-Conference Accolades

2018 Feb 26

Samuel Light of Jonestown, Pa., is one of a pair of Lebanon Valley men's basketball players named MAC Commonwealth First-Team All-Conference. It is the third year in a row that they have earned first-team all-conference honors.

Light, a graduate of Northern Lebanon High School, is pursuing a bachelor of science in business administration at LVC.

Light is in the midst of an outstanding senior season that saw him win his second MAC Commonwealth scoring title. He currently ranks 19th in the nation with a 22.9 points per game average. The team captain recently joined 1994 national champion and current VCU head coach Mike Rhoades and two-time consensus National Player of the Year Andy Panko as the only players in program history to score 2,000 career points. He is currently tied with Rhoades for second place on LVC's all-time scoring list with 2,050 total points. Light also led the team with 1.7 steals per contest, a number good enough to rank him fourth in the conference. He was tabbed the U.S. (USWBA) National Player of the Week and was named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week in early January. He also earned a pair of MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week accolades this season, as well as an ECAC South Player of the Week honor last month.
