Samantha Bost Recognized as LVC Student-Athlete

Samantha Bost of Eldersburg, Md., is one of more than 200 student-athletes who competed for the Flying Dutchmen during the 2017 spring sports season. Bost, a graduate of Liberty High School, is pursuing a doctor of physical therapy in physical therapy at The Valley.

Bost was a member of the softball team. Softball won 25 games this season and finished two runs shy of winning a MAC Commonwealth Championship after an outstanding postseason run. The team was led by all-conference first-team honorees Sammy Bost, Maddie Abbot, and Lexi Windsor. All three were named ECAC South All-Stars, while Bost and Windsor were pegged all-region. Annie McClain and Savannah Toth joined the trio as MAC Commonwealth All-Conference players. Bost became the first student-athlete in school history to earn three CoSIDA First-Team Academic All-America honors and she was also named the MAC Softball Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Bost was named ECAC-South All-Star Honorable Mention, MAC Commonwealth Softball All-Conference First Team, MAC Softball Senior-Scholar Athlete of the Year, NFCA First Team All-Region, CoSIDA First Team Academic All-American, CoSIDA Academic All-District, 2017 Preseason All-American Second Team by Fastpitch News, and HERO Sports Preseason D3 Softball All-America First Team.

A member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III, American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA), Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC), and Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC), Lebanon Valley College offers 25 sports.
