Rileigh Jo Evitts Named Division III National Player of The Week

2017 Sep 13

For the first time in Lebanon Valley College women's soccer history, a player has earned United Soccer Coaches Division III National Player of the Week Honors. Rileigh Jo Evitts, of Auburn, has added to her impressive list of accomplishments this week after her record-breaking performance last week. Evitts is pursuing a bachelor of science in neuroscience at The Valley.

Evitts' historic performance came in a 9-1 rout over Marywood on Sept. 7 when she matched the single-game program record for total points with 10, and tied the program's single-game record with five goals scored. The junior's first of the match also proved to be the game-winner, and she ended up netting five markers in a row in the 21st, 22nd, 56th, and 58th minutes, with her final two scores coming just 32 seconds apart.

To go along with this distinguished honor, Evitts also earned MAC Commonwealth and ECAC South Offensive POTW honors.

The last LVC student-athlete to earn a National POTW honor was men's lacrosse's Klayton Garman, who earned the accolade this past April for the Dutchmen.
