Nicole Files Serves the Community During Spring Break Service Trip

2018 Mar 15

Nicole Files of Lancaster, Pa., traveled with seven additional Lebanon Valley College students and two staff members to Washington, D.C. for a spring break service trip that focused on homelessness and poverty. Files, a graduate of Manheim Township High School is pursuing a bachelor of science in accounting and business administration and Spanish at The Valley.

Different members of the group served with six different organizations throughout the week ranging from Central Union Mission, A Wider Circle, Capital Area Food Bank and more. In addition, the students prepared a meal and engaged in very real and authentic conversations with the guests they were serving.

Throughout the four days, the students participated in meaningful times of reflection and discussion as together they grew their understanding of what the challenges of homelessness and poverty mean in our world.
