Nicholas Scullin Earns MAC Academic Honors

2018 Feb 2

Nicholas Scullin of Winfield, Pa., is one of four Lebanon Valley College student-athletes who received academic awards from the MIddle Atlantic Conference.

Scullin, a member of the men's cross country team, was named MAC Scholar-Athlete of the Year and Academic All-Conference. Scullin, a graduate of Lewisburg Area High School, is pursuing a bachelor of science in biology at The Valley.

Scullin is a two-time all-conference honoree. He capped his breakout junior campaign by finishing in eighth-place at the 2016 MAC Championships and earning a spot on the All-MAC First Team. He followed it up with a 15th-place finish at the most recent MAC Championships in October en route to picking up All-MAC Second-Team recognition. The senior has twice finished in the top 60 at the annual NCAA Division III Mideast Regional, including a 58th-place finish out of 365 total runners this fall that helped lead LVC to a program-best finish of 13th out of 51 competing teams. The two-time team captain has also been a standout in the classroom. The Biology major will graduate in the spring of 2018 and he currently holds an impressive 3.88 cumulative GPA. Earlier this week, Scullin earned his second consecutive Men's Cross Country Academic All-MAC honor. He was named to the 2016 USTFCCCA All-Academic Squad and is on pace to repeat the feat this winter. He is also a three-time MAC Academic Honor Roll recipient.
