Gibbons helped lead the Flying Dutchmen to their second consecutive ECAC Division III Championship in 2017. He was named to the ECAC Championship All-Tournament team for his efforts. He has also been stellar on the academic side. This fall, Gibbons was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Second-Team after earning a third-team selection a year ago. He is just the sixth repeat academic all-American in LVC history. He also earned CoSIDA Academic All-District honors for the second time in as many seasons. In 2016, he earned a spot on the MAC Academic All-Conference Team. One of the College's prestigious Allwein Scholars, Gibbons posted a 4.00 term GPA during his semester of competition.
