Matthew Torrence Named Men's Lacrosse Team Captain

Lebanon Valley College men's lacrosse head coach John Haus has announced that Matthew Torrence of Gaithersburg, Md., is one of five team captains for the upcoming 2018 campaign. Torrence, a graduate of Damascus High School, is pursuing a degree in early childhood education, special education at The Valley.

Torrence had a breakout year as a sophomore last spring and saw time in all 17 contests. He racked up 21 total points and scored 17 goals, including a pair of game-winners. The midfielder added four assists, gathered in 22 ground balls, and caused three turnovers. He netted a career-high four markers in a win over Delaware Valley in February and earned a spot on the MAC Academic Honor Roll.

The Flying Dutchmen open their 2018 season when they host Delaware Valley at Arnold Field on Saturday afternoon, Feb. 24.
