Marquis Bey of Sharon Hill Selected to Present at LVC

2013 Apr 26

Marquis D. Bey of Sharon Hill, Pa., was selected to present as part of Inquiry 2013 at Lebanon Valley College. Inquiry 2013 coincided with the Council for Undergraduate Research's week-long celebration of student research and achievement. LVC celebrates the academic, dramatic, athletic, musical, and experiential achievements of the student body. Events began on Sunday, April 14, and concluded Saturday, April 20. Bey, a junior philosophy, American studies, and English major, presented "Speaking Mumbo Jumbo to an Invisible Native Son: Reading the Greats, Writing a Book, and Realizing I'm Not Them" and "Filling the Shell of the Black Woman With Nothing". Bey is a graduate of Academy Park High School.

Inquiry 2013 included poster presentations, art displays, poetry readings, oral research presentations, and musical recitals. Every academic department on campus nominated students to share their accomplishments during that week.

Lebanon Valley College is located in Annville, Pa., just 15 minutes east of Hershey and 35 minutes east of Harrisburg.
