Madeline Abbot Recognized as LVC Student-Athlete

Madeline Abbot of Kimberton, Pa., is one of more than 200 student-athletes who competed for the Flying Dutchmen during the 2017 spring sports season. Abbot, a graduate of Villa Maria Academy, is pursuing a bachelor of science in exercise science at The Valley.

Abbot was a member of the softball team. Softball won 25 games this season and finished two runs shy of winning a MAC Commonwealth Championship after an outstanding postseason run. The team was led by all-conference first-team honorees Sammy Bost, Maddie Abbot, and Lexi Windsor. All three were named ECAC South All-Stars, while Bost and Windsor were pegged all-region. Annie McClain and Savannah Toth joined the trio as MAC Commonwealth All-Conference players. Bost became the first student-athlete in school history to earn three CoSIDA First-Team Academic All-America honors and she was also named the MAC Softball Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Abbot was named to the MAC Commonwealth All-Conference First Team and ECAC South Division III All-Star First-Team.

A member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III, American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA), Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC), and Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC), Lebanon Valley College offers 25 sports.
