Luisa Perez of Lebanon a Student Leader at Lebanon Valley College

Luisa Perez of Lebanon, Pa., is serving as a student leader at Lebanon Valley College this year. Perez is the president of Latinos Unidos and secretary of Spanish Club.

Latinos Unidos is devoted to promoting a cultural awareness of the Hispanic and Latin American culture. They sponsor various events on campus to share their message.

Any student interested in the Spanish language and culture may join the Spanish Club. Students do not need to know or speak Spanish to enjoy membership with the club. The club sponsors dancing lessons such as salsa and flamenco and trips such as to a local Puerto Rican bakery. The Spanish Club also participates in the annual International Culture Day.

Perez is a senior Spanish major.

Lebanon Valley College is located in Annville, Pa., just 15 minutes east of Hershey and 35 minutes east of Harrisburg. Philadelphia, Washington D.C. and Baltimore are all approximately two hours from LVC. Founded in 1866, the College welcomes more than 1,600 full-time undergraduate students studying more than 30 majors, as well as self-designed majors. It guarantees graduation within four years and offers automatic scholarships to students ranking in the top 30 percent of their high school class worth up to one half the cost of tuition at LVC.
