Lebanon Valley College Recognizes Winter Student-Athletes

Gaige VandeZande of Salisbury, N.C., was among 177 Lebanon Valley College students who played a varsity sport during the 2014-2015 winter season. VandeZande, a graduate of East Rowan High School, is pursuing a bachelor of science in biology at The Valley and was a member of the men's ice hockey team.

Lebanon Valley finished the 2014-15 campaign with 36 total points and a 16-12-4 overall record. The Flying Dutchmen advanced to the semifinal round of the ESCHL postseason tournament before falling to #5 Stony Brook. Junior Andy Thurby was named an ESCHL Second-Team All-League selection. Freshman Chase Wilson earned a spot on the league's all-rookie team while junior PJ Hefferin was named an ESCHL All-Defensive Team pick. Matt Healy, Colin Catherman, Jacob Horst, Adam Thomas, Alexander Toppin, Danny Willey, Joey LaBonte, Nick Schultz, Gaige VandeZande, and Hefferin earned ESCHL All-Academic Team status.

A member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III, American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA), Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC), and Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC), Lebanon Valley College offers 24 sports.
