Lebanon Valley College Recognizes Winter Student-Athletes

2015 Mar 25

Lauren Grauer of Mohrsville, Pa., was among 177 Lebanon Valley College students who played a varsity sport during the 2014-2015 winter season. Grauer, a graduate of Schuylkill Valley High School, is pursuing a bachelor of science in early childhood education and special education at The Valley and was a member of the women's indoor track and field team.

Senior Cynthia Adams won Lebanon Valley's first-ever NCAA track & field championship in the women's 800m in March; just the second national championship in LVC's history. She finished her career as a three-time all-American. Senior Michael Harnish was the NCAA's national runner-up in the men's 800m, earned his second-straight all-American honor, and was named the Track Athlete of the Year at the MAC Indoor Championships in late February while freshman Cheyanne Brown earned the league's Rookie of the Year honor on the women's side. Lebanon Valley athletes earned plenty of accolades with 13 men earning MAC medals and 17 earning all-MAC honors while the women medaled 14 times and had 19 competitors earn all-MAC honors. Adams won conference championships in the 800m and mile; Alyssa Keich, Sarah Grown, Kat O'Hara, and Teanna Shutt took home the DMR crown; Adams, Keich, Shutt, and Dana Stockdale were the 4x800m champions, and Mariah Smolka won the shot put title. For the men, Harnish won the MAC 800m and mile championships and Ian McGinnis earned the 200m crown. Harnish, Adams, and Smolka qualified for the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships and the trio, along with Noe Aguilar, were named Commonwealth T&F Athletes of the Week over the course of the season.

A member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III, American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA), Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC), and Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC), Lebanon Valley College offers 24 sports.
