Lebanon Valley College Inducts Alyssa Rowland to the Delta Alpha Pi Honor Society

2018 Apr 11

Alyssa Rowland of Harrisburg, Pa., was recently inducted to Delta Alpha Pi, an academic honor society for students with disabilities in colleges and universities, during Lebanon Valley College's Inquiry 2018 celebration. Rowland, a graduate of Central Dauphin East High School, is pursuing a bachelor of science in exercise science at The Valley.

Delta Alpha Pi is an academic honor society for students with disabilities in colleges and universities. According to the society's website, because of the negative stereotyping associated with disability, students have been reluctant to identify themselves publicly. Delta Alpha Pi presents an opportunity to change that perception by recognizing students with disabilities for their academic accomplishments. The society also seeks to facilitate development of skills in leadership, advocacy and education for participating students.
