Lauren Shanberg of Langhorne Inducted to Delta Alpha Pi at Lebanon Valley College

2014 Apr 14

Lauren B. Shanberg of Langhorne, Pa., was inducted to the Delta Alpha Pi honor society at Lebanon Valley College during Inquiry 2014, the College's two week long celebration of the scholarly, scientific, and creative achievements of the student body. Shanberg is pursuing a bachelor of science in early childhood education and special education and is a graduate of Neshaminy High School.

Delta Alpha Pi is an academic honor society for students with disabilities in colleges and universities. According to the society’s website, because of the negative stereotyping associated with disability, students have been reluctant to identify themselves publicly. Delta Alpha Pi presents an opportunity to change that perception by recognizing students with disabilities for their academic accomplishments. The society also seeks to facilitate development of skills in leadership, advocacy and education for participating students.

The fourth annual Inquiry celebration began Sunday, March 30 and concluded Saturday, April 12. View images from the events at www.lvc.edu/fb/inquiry-2014/index.aspx.
