Kim Gailey Presents Social Justice Research

2013 Nov 1

Kim Gailey accompanied Dr. Ann Berger-Knorr, Lebanon Valley College associate professor of education, to the Early Childhood Education Summit Conference in State College, Pa. on Oct. 23, 2013. Gailey and two other LVC students presented research titled "Visions of Social Justice in PK-4 Classrooms." Gailey's presentation explored the use of multicultural picture books as a springboard for discussing issues of social justice with preschool and elementary-aged students.

The mission of the Lebanon Valley College Education Department is to develop, in a liberal arts environment, teachers of high moral and ethical character, who are highly effective, capable, and knowledgeable of teaching methods that reflect current research and best practice. We firmly believe that prospective teachers must possess effective communication skills, a love for learning, a sense of responsibility and service to their school and community, and a genuine respect for those with whom they work.
