Keyri Sierra of Lancaster Participates in Lebanon Valley College's Summer Enrichment Program

2017 Jul 20

Keyri Sierra of Lancaster, Pa., recently participated in the Summer Enrichment Program at Lebanon Valley College. Sierra is a graduate of Hempfield High School and is pursuing a bachelor of science in biology.

Renata Williams, director of intercultural affairs and inclusive programming, has transformed the former three-day Multicultural Bridge Program into the Summer Enrichment Program, a seven-day program geared at providing incoming first-year and transfer ALANA (African/African American, Latina, Asian, and Native American) and multiracial students with a jump start on college life. The program combines peer mentoring, residential living, academic success, and leadership development.

"Moving the program from August to July helped Summer Enrichment Program students move in and get acclimated with campus prior to the hustle and bustle of regular orientation," said Williams. "They participated in events and activities geared at helping them make a successful transition to college life, and became familiar with resources that will help them succeed at LVC."
