Jordan Heavel Earns Middle Atlantic Conference Player of the Week Honor

Jordan Heavel of Hanover, Pa. is one of three Lebanon Valley College student-athletes who earned Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth weekly honors, announced Monday. Heavel, a graduate of South Western High School, is pursuing a bachelor of science in health science at The Valley.

Jordan Heavel was named the Men's Tennis Player of the Week, while Emma Strickler picked up Women's Soccer Player of the Week honors. Finally, David Herbst was named the Men's Golfer of the Week for the third-consecutive week.

Heavel went 2-0 in the Dutchmen's 7-2 win over previously unbeaten Susquehanna on Sunday. The senior teamed with Luke Senft to win doubles by a score of 8-0. Heavel then won a marathon singles match, 7-5, 4-6, 11-9 to help LVC pick up their first win of the season.

Strickler earned her first-ever POTW honor after making three saves on seven shots to record a 1-0 shutout at previously unbeaten Susquehanna. She earned her fourth win of the season.

Herbst collected his third-straight conference golfer of the week honor. Herbst won the Dutchmen Fall Invitational with a score of 70 (-2). The junior guided LVC to their second-lowest team score since 2006 (301), and a third-straight year that the Dutchmen won their home event team title.
