Joel Eisenhower Recognized for men's ice hockey at Lebanon Valley College

Joel Eisenhower of Mechanicsburg, Pa., was one of more than 180 Lebanon Valley College students who played a varsity sport during the 2015-16 winter season. Eisenhower, a graduate of Mechanicsburg Area High School, was a member of Lebanon Valley's men's ice hockey team. Eisenhower is pursuing a bachelor of science in computer science at The Valley.

Lebanon Valley had an impressive season finishing 26-6 overall and 14-5 in ESCHL conference play. The team reached the ESCHL Championship and advanced all the way to the elite eight of the ACHA Division I National Tournament. Bryan Hovanec was named the ESCHL Rookie of the Year and earned a spot on the league's all-rookie team along with teammate Mike Straub. Senior Jake Thomas was voted onto the all-defensive team for his efforts this season. Five more Dutchmen earned ESCHL All-Academic Team status including J. Thomas, Adam Thomas, Gaige VandeZande, Andy Thurby, and PJ Hefferin. The ice hockey program will rejoin NCAA Division III next season.

A member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III, American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA), Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC), and Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC), Lebanon Valley College offers 24 sports.
