Jeffery Zimmerman of Pine Grove a Student Leader at Lebanon Valley College

Jeffery Zimmerman Jr. of Pine Grove, Pa., is serving as a student leader at Lebanon Valley College this year. Zimmerman is the vice president of Tri-Beta Biological Honor Society and Biology Club.

Beta Beta Beta, a National Biological Honor Society, is open to majors in the biological sciences. Membership is by invitation. To become a member one must have completed 3 courses in Biology and maintained an average 3.0 in Biology and a 3.0 overall. Beta Beta Beta hosts various speakers and panels. Members of Beta Beta Beta present topics of their own independent research at annual district meetings.

The Biology Club increases awareness of and interest in the biological sciences among non-science and science majors. Activities include faculty lectures, guest speakers, field trips, and social gatherings. The club is student oriented, organized, and operated.

Zimmerman is a junior biology major.

Lebanon Valley College is located in Annville, Pa., just 15 minutes east of Hershey and 35 minutes east of Harrisburg. Philadelphia, Washington D.C. and Baltimore are all approximately two hours from LVC. Founded in 1866, the College welcomes more than 1,600 full-time undergraduate students studying more than 30 majors, as well as self-designed majors.
