Javon Nelson Volunteers as a Mosaic Mentor

Javon Nelson, of Tampa, is one of 15 students is participating in the Mosiac Mentor program at Lebanon Valley College. Nelson, a graduate of Middleton High School, is pursuing a bachelor of arts in art and art history and business administration at The Valley.

Mosaic Mentors are a group of students that provide direct and dedicated peer support to incoming and transfer ALANA, Multicultural Fellowship, LVEP, Milton Hershey, International, and LGBTQ+ identifying students. The mentor program assists students with their academic, social and personal transition during their first year at LVC.

Mentors arrive to the College before the start of the semester to attend leadership trainings and other events in order to learn how to best assist students. Mentors host activities for their mentees throughout the year to help these individuals remain active and engaged in the campus community.
