Javon Nelson Recognized as LVC Student-Athlete

Javon Nelson of Tampa, Fla., is one of more than 150 student-athletes who competed for the Flying Dutchmen during the 2016-17 winter sports season. Nelson, a graduate of Middleton High School, is pursuing a bachelor of arts in art and art history and business administration at The Valley.

Nelson was a member of the men's track and field team. The Dutchmen earned a number of top-five finishes this season, including fourth at the ECAC Championships. Terrence Habiyaremye had an impressive season that was capped by being named USTFCCCA All-Region and earning numerous all-conference first-team honors. The senior won gold in the 800m at the MAC Championships and went on to post his fastest time in the event en route to winning the ECAC Division III Championship. The 4x200m relay team consisting of Bradley Hartman, Kalen Spencer-Patterson, Corey Keen, and Ian McGinnis also found success, winning gold at the MAC Championships and silver at the ECAC Championships. Nelson was named first team All-Conference in the DMR.

A member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III, American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA), Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC), and Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC), Lebanon Valley College offers 25 sports.
