Ian Lloyd Named MAC Scholar-Athlete

2018 Apr 6

Ian Lloyd of Millersburg, Pa. received the Middle Atlantic Conference's (MAC) highest individual honor, being named Senior Scholar-Athlete for men's swimming.

In the pool, Lloyd recently wrapped up one of the most successful four-year careers in program history with his second MAC Championship in as many years. The senior won gold in the 200 IM after winning the first conference title of his career in the 200 fly in the winter of 2017. His gold medal-winning effort of 1:53.58 in the 200 IM is the fastest time in both MAC and MAC Championship history in the event, respectively. In addition to a plethora of silver and bronze medals, he is an eight-time All-MAC First-Team honoree, a three-time all-conference second-teamer, a former All-MAC Third-Team honoree, and a two-time all-conference honorable mention pick. Lloyd added a number of MAC Swimmer of the Week awards over the course of his career, with his latest coming earlier this season in November. The team captain wrapped up his time at Lebanon Valley as a program-record holder in an incredible 15 events. He has also proved outstanding in the classroom the past four years. Lloyd is a two-time Academic All-MAC honoree and has twice appeared on the MAC Academic Honor Roll. The six-time Dean's List honoree has also been accepted into the Sigma Alpha Pi Honor Society for his efforts. The Exercise Science (Physical Therapy) major currently holds an impressive 3.93 cumulative GPA in one of the College's most competitive areas of study.

Lloyd, a graduate of Millersburg Area High School, is pursuing a bachelor of science in health science.
