Ian Lloyd Named Google Cloud Academic All-District By CoSIDA

2018 May 24

Ian Lloyd of Millersburg, Pa., has been named Google Cloud Academic All-District by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Lloyd received a bachelor of science degree this May and is now pursuing his doctor of physical therapy degree at LVC. Lloyd is a graduate of Millersburg Area High School.

For Lloyd, it is his first such award after an outstanding four-year career that's seen him consistently excel in the pool and in the classroom. He joins nine other student-athletes from the state of Pennsylvania as honorees from CoSIDA's District 4.

In the pool, the senior recently wrapped up one of the most successful careers in program history with his second Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Championship in as many years. He won gold in the 200 IM after winning the first conference title of his career in the 200 fly in the winter of 2017. His gold medal-winning effort of 1:53.58 in the 200 IM is the fastest time in both MAC and MAC Championship history in the event, respectively. In addition to winning a plethora of silver and bronze medals, he is an eight-time All-MAC First-Team honoree, a three-time all-conference second-teamer, a former All-MAC Third-Team honoree, and a two-time all-conference honorable mention pick.

Lloyd added a number of MAC Swimmer of the Week awards over the course of his career, with his latest coming earlier this season in November. The team captain wrapped up his time at Lebanon Valley as a program-record holder in an incredible 15 events.

He has also proved outstanding in the classroom the past four years. Lloyd recently earned the MAC's highest individual honor when he was named the conference's men's swimming senior scholar-athlete of the year. He is a two-time Academic All-MAC honoree and has twice appeared on the MAC Academic Honor Roll. The six-time Dean's List honoree has also been accepted into the Sigma Alpha Pi Honor Society for his efforts. The Exercise Science (Physical Therapy) major recently earned his undergraduate degree after posting an impressive 3.93 cumulative GPA in one of the College's most competitive areas of study.

Lloyd joined men's soccer player Nate Gibbons and men's basketball player Andy Orr as LVC student-athletes to earn academic all-district recognition during the 2017-18 campaign.
