Erin Angelini Presents Reach Paper at Latin American Studies Conference

Erin Angelini of Bel Air, Md., was one of four Lebanon Valley College students to present a research paper at The Midwest Association for Latin American Studies (MALAS) Conference held Oct. 8-10 at Millersville University. Angelini is pursuing a bachelor of science in health science and Spanish at The Valley.

The four papers and authors were:

"Creando comunidades imaginadas irlandesas en el espacio argentino" by Erin Angelini

"La inmigracion y el empoderamiento femenino" by Erin Eckerd

"Matrimonio y sexualidad como mecanismos de reacomodo y de movilidad social" by Giovanna Ortiz

"La representacion literaria del impacto sicologico en la mujer inmigrante" by Kimberly Ortiz-Marrero

These papers were written for the course Modern Latin American Literature (SPA 450) as the writing process component. Students were engaged on the different stages of writing and revising in class, and were rewarded by presenting the final papers in an academic conference. The papers will be submitted for publication before the end of the fall semester.
