Emma Jones Honored at 69th Annual All-Sports Reception at Lebanon Valley College

Lebanon Valley College held its 69th Annual All-Sports Reception on Sunday, April 29 at Sorrentino Gymnasium, awarding year-end accolades and team MVP honors as LVC's senior student-athletes were recognized for their achievements. Emma Jones of Sinking Spring, Pa., a member of the women's lacrosse team, received the following award(s): Outstanding Female Athlete Award.

After earning IWLCA Second-Team All-Region honors two years in a row,EEmma JonesEcontinued her outstanding play during her senior campaign. She finished the regular season as the team's leading scorer with 55 goals and she added seven assists to tally 62 total points on the spring. She also leads the team with 56 draw controls and 23 caused turnovers to go along with 28 ground balls. She is a two-time MAC Commonwealth All-Conference First-Teamer and thanks to her efforts, the women's lacrosse team secured the No. 2 seed in the upcoming conference championship tournament for the first time in program history.

Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Team of the Year honors went to men's basketball and women's tennis to lead the major awards.

Men's basketball won the program's first outright conference championship in 23 years and earned a berth in the NCAA Tournament for the first time in more than a decade. Sam Light earned an all-America honorable mention nod and Andy Orr was named a CoSIDA Academic All-American. The squad as a whole was pegged the NABC Division III National Team of the Week in January.

Women's tennis won 14 matches last spring, finished undefeated against MAC Commonwealth opposition in the regular season, and earned the top seed in the conference's championship tournament before bowing out in the MAC Commonwealth Championship match. Joy Graeff was named the conference's coach of the year and Marla Scacchitti was tabbed second-team all-conference.

Men's soccer head coach Charlie Grimes offered the event's invocation. Men's ice hockey and men's golf's Russ Armbruster and women's soccer's Katie Goldsmith presented the SAAC Team of the Year awards, while men's soccer's Nate Gibbons presented the women's soccer team with the inaugural Step UP! Team of the Year award.

In addition, 15 Dutchmen earned Distinguished Athlete accolades for earning eight varsity letters or receiving regional and/or national honors, while an impressive 77 student-athletes received LVC Scholar-Athlete recognition for being a junior, senior, or graduate student with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.
