Courtney Mengel to Study Away in Italy This Spring

2018 Feb 9

Courtney Mengel of Lititz, Pa., is one of 24 Lebanon Valley College students enjoying a global, immersive experience by studying away during the Spring 2018 semester. Mengel will be studying in Italy.

This program offers all majors an education at the Umbra Institute in Perugia, Italy. At Umbra, students study throughout Italy sampling the many treasures of the great cities. It is difficult to think of a more suitable backdrop for study abroad in Italy. The academic program is taught in the American university tradition and is composed of two partsDa compulsory Italian language component that may fulfill the language requirement at LVC and an elective component composed of courses taught at the Institute.

Mengel, a graduate of Warwick High School, is pursuing a bachelor of arts in art and visual culture and English at The Valley.

LVC offers 12 full-semester programs study abroad programs as well as several short-term international programs, and two domestic internship programs. By the time they graduate, 20 percent of LVC students will have lived and studied in another country.
