2017 Jun 23

Austin Minnich of Lititz, Pa., is one of more than 200 student-athletes who competed for the Flying Dutchmen during the 2017 spring sports season. Minnich, a graduate of Warwick High School, received a bachelor of science in biochemistry and molecular biology at The Valley.

Minnich was a member of the men's lacrosse team. Men's lacrosse made its third consecutive appearance in the MAC Commonwealth Postseason Tournament this spring after seeing five players in Austin Minnich (1T), Klayton Garman (2T), Coleman Wagner (2T), Cameron Epple (2T), and Barrett Campbell (HM) earn all-conference honors. Minnich became the first player in the modern era to earn an invite to the USILA/Nike North-South All-Star Game, while Garman became just the second player in program history to net 100 goals for his career. Minnich was named MAC Commonwealth First Team All-Conference and to the MAC Spring Sportsmanship Team. He was tabbed a USILA/Nike Division III Scholar All-American and earned a spot in the organization's North-South All-Star Game. He also was awarded a Second Team All-Region South accolade from the Intercollegiate Men's Lacrosse Coaches Association.
