Andrew Flinchbaugh Presented at Pennsylvania Science Teachers Association Annual Conference

Lebanon Valley College's Andrew Flinchbaugh of Quarryville, Pa., recently presented at the Pennsylvania Science Teachers Association Annual Conference at the Penn Stater Convention Center in State College, Pa. Flinchbaugh, a graduate of Lampeter Strasburg High School, is pursuing a bachelor of science in biology at The Valley.

Flinchbaugh's presentation, "Teaching Science through the Danielson Model," investigated how to adapt the Danielson Model of Educator Effectiveness to meet the unique needs of science teachers. The Danielson Model, created by educational leader Charlotte Danielson, capsulizes the key elements of effective teaching in four domains.This model is used to evaluate teachers and pre-service teachers across the state of Pennsylvania.

Flinchbaugh, along with two other classmates and their professor Jeff Remington, provided many tips and insights during the presentation to help science teachers meet proficient and distinguished rubric marks in the Danielson Model.
