2016 Jun 30

Anderson Orr of Wernersville, Pa., is one of more than 150 Lebanon Valley student-athletes named to the Middle Atlantic Conference's (MAC) Winter and Spring Academic Honor Roll.

Orr, a graduate of Conrad Weiser Area High School, is a member of the men's basketball team, and is pursuing a bachelor of science in business administration and accounting at The Valley. Orr, who was also named MAC Academic All-Conference, ECAC South Player of the Year, and MAC Commonwealth Player of the Year, was named a D-III News All-American after an outstanding sophomore campaign. He won the MAC Commonwealth scoring title, averaging 21.3 points per game. He was named first-team all-region by D3hoops.com and the NABC after earning MAC Commonwealth and ECAC South First-Team All-Conference honors.

The academic honor roll is comprised of student-athletes who compete in a varsity level sport and registered a term/semester GPA of 3.20 (on a 4.00 scale) or higher. In 2015-16, the MAC allowed freshmen to be eligible for the conference academic honor roll for the first time.

The addition of freshmen allowed for a record 2,278 MAC student-athletes who competed in baseball, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's golf, men's and women's lacrosse, softball, men's and women's swimming, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's indoor track & field, and men's and women's outdoor track & field to earn honor roll recognition. A total of 827 student-athletes were named to the winter honor roll and 1,451 were named to the spring version.
