Alex Rubin of Lehighton Studying Abroad This Summer

2015 May 22

Alex Rubin of Lehighton, Pa. is one of 39 Lebanon Valley College students studying away during summer break as part of the College's study abroad program, which includes 15 foreign countries and two stateside internship opportunities.

Rubin is studying in Perugia, Italy as part of a three-week course titled Gastrophilosophy: Reflections on Place, Time and Identity.

Rubin, a graduate of Lehighton Area High School, is pursuing a bachelor of music in music recording technology at The Valley.

The College is in the process of developing a handful of new short-term programs that would make it easier for busy students to study off-campus. This summer, new short-term programs were offered in Italy and Canada. By the time they graduate, nearly 20 percent of LVC students will have spent time studying and traveling abroad, experiences that will shape and inform the rest of their lives as global citizens.
