Aileen Koch of Franklin is Participating in Wig and Buckle Theater Company's Production of "Curtains"

2014 Oct 17

Aileen Koch of Franklin, N.J., is serving as as the director in the upcoming production of the musical "Curtains," by Lebanon Valley College's Wig and Buckle Theater Company. The "musical comedy whodunit" will open Friday, Oct. 24 at 8 p.m. Koch is a graduate of Wallkill Valley Regional High School pursuing a bachelor of science and bachelor of arts in music education and music.

Since 1935, Wig and Buckle, a student-run organization, has performed musicals and plays for the enjoyment of LVC students and members of surrounding communities. The Company is teaming up once again with Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia and Sigma Alpha Iota--two music fraternities on LVC's campus that provide service hours to help with selling tickets, box office tasks, tear down of the set, and performing on stage--to bring this hilariously entertaining show to life.

The concept of "Curtains" was originally created by Peter Stone, but upon his passing in 2003, Rupert Holmes was hired to complete it. The show officially debuted on Broadway in 2007, featuring music and lyrics by John Kander and Fred Ebb. In "Curtains," an unlikable leading lady is murdered during her opening night curtain call. Frank Cioffi, a police detective and musical theater fan, must solve the mystery and save the show.
